My Review
Pour yourself a lovely glass of something cool and refreshing and then do exactly as it says on the tin nad Escape to Tuscany for a few hours in this lovely dual timeline story.
You will find yourself being drawn into the lives of stella and Tori as they develop and weave their way through Romituzzo in 1944 nad Florence in 2019. You will feel their anger, love, despair and determination as they encounter different obstacles throughout their lives before finally merging at the end.
This is a beautiful story of love , loss and belief that I found myself totally immersed in for an evening; and the narrative, at times, is so vivid that you find yourself transported into the setting, whether it be the crypt in the church or drinking coffee in one of the little cafes in Florence.
Kat has the ability to draw her readers in so that they feel as though they are actually there observing what is happening in the lives of Stella, a very young member of the Resistance in Romituzzo in 1944 and Tori a writer who has left her emotionally abusive husband to return, thanks to a legacy from her beloved Grandma to the place where they spent many happy holidays forging and developing a wonderful Granddaughter Grandma relationship.
This is a story that I would highly recommend and would give a 5 πππππ rating.
