My Review

What a wonderful retelling of some of my favourite fables by Aesop. These are definitely designed for reading out loud and I have had so many hours of enjoyment out of them reading them to my family . If you imagine yourself in the shoes of some of our famous poets whilst you read them and immerse yourself in using different voices for each of the animals I can guarantee you will have hours of fun out of this book and you never know you might discover the thespian in yourself that may have been lying dormant all these years.

I feel sure that if Aesop could hear these tales today he would approve of their retelling and would applaud Leon Conrad on how he has modernised his stories.

It must also be said that the illustrations by Alessandro Scafi  add a wonderful dimension to the book, for both readers young and old.

A lovely book that you can dip into at your leisure and brilliant for providing a few minutes of entertainment at a time in a classroom setting .
