Synopsis
My Thoughts
I love it when I come across a new detective series to get my teeth into and I have found that in the Detectives Roy and Roscoe ones. Voices from the Dead is the Eighth book but that’s not going to stop me getting the others as I was certainly hooked by this one, which reads equally well as a standalone in its own right.
The narrative flows easily and the plot moves at a steady pace allowing you time to process everything that is happening without feeling overwhelmed or having to read passages again. As a result it is easy to build up the picture and follow the different trails that you are taken on without too much being given away. Consequently nothing is revealed until the last few pages to give you a clear picture of who the killer was along with a clever bit of detective work which cemented their guilt.
I haven’t come across anything by Tony before but I do like his style of writing , there is just enough substance to give you what you need without going over the top with detail that is unnecessary to a good story. I will definitely be looking out for future novels from Tony; both in the Roy and Roscoe series and also any other ones he chooses to write. An author to watch out for.
