The Murder Wall
by Mari Hannah
My thanks to the author and the publisher for sending me the DCI Kate Daniels books to review and to Tracy at Compulsive Readers for inviting me to be a part of #Team Daniels in the lead up to the next book in the series The Longest Goodbye to be published on 18th January 2024
Synopsis
The Murder Wall is Mari Hannah's first gripping crime novel featuring DCI Kate Daniels.
My Review
Gosh is DCI Kate Daniels a force to be reckoned with in this, the first of an ongoing series featuring this feisty and incredibly likeable detective who I could really relate to from the very first page.
I was hooked straight away during the prologue before the characters even began and so , as the story started and developed, I was drawn deeper and deeper in, loving some of the characters, and absolutely feeling my skin crawl as the killer's psyche, feelings and cold bloodedness start to become paramount.
The descriptive way Mari has of creating her characters and allowing their personal lives to permeate into their job roles ensures that the reader feels as though they know each of them personally by the end of the book. Consequently I am now looking forward immensely to spending more time with DCI kate Daniels over the coming months; finding out how her career, personal life and also that of her colleagues develops in the next eight books.
This is definitely a series I wish I had found earlier, however, now that I have i am going to enjoy every single word of them.
As an aside I think DCI Kate Daniels would make a very good televised detective if any TV producers are reading this blog !!!!!!!!!
Right I'm off to start the second book in the series now.
