CAN YOU SOLVE THE CASE?
Eighteen passengers. Seven stops. One killer. In the early hours of Christmas Eve, the sleeper train to the Highlands is derailed, along with the festive plans of its travellers.
With the train stuck in snow in the middle of nowhere, a killer stalks its carriages, picking off passengers one by one.
Those who sleep on the sleeper train may never wake again.
Can former Met detective Roz Parker find the killer before they kill again?
My Review
For me this was a book that I initially had doubts about, mainly because it took a while, page 158 to be precise, for the first body to be discovered and to be honest I was starting to lose interest.
However, once the body of one of the passengers had been discovered it was as though the story moved up a few gears and really took on a different attitude. It then started to draw me into the Who, What, Where , Why and How questions that all good mystery stories have. Consequently this made for entertaining reading as I tried to work out which of the passengers could possibly have done it, especially when the door was locked from the inside.
Roz's character is a good one as she sets out to solve the mystery whilst coping with what is going on in her personal life along with the frustration of being stuck on a train that is going nowhere.
So yes this is a good mystery to read, just persevere through the first wedge of the book to the first death.
