Synopsis
When Tabby wakes up in a
rubbish skip - again - she decides the time has come for action.
The bad guys might have got away with it so far but it's time to turn the
tables.
With the help of her mum, a disgraced policeman, a farting dog, and two
homeless friends Tabby is determined to bring the handsome criminal millionaire
to justice.
And she was only supposed to be making a few sandwiches.
My Review
This is the first book in the Tabitha's Table mystery series and if this first book is anything to go by it should prove to be a tongue in cheek cosy mystery set of books that will have you laughing out loud. At times you will be asking yourself "Really" whilst at other times you will be taking in the light hearted way that it is written throughout.
Some of the characters appear a little far fetched but that may just be because I appear to have led a sheltered life away from potential drug barons with loadsa money. Other aspects, like feeding the homeless, really point out what life is like at the other end of the spectrum and the huge difference between the haves and the have nots - one wanting the best caviar at whatever the cost - the other grateful for sandwiches left over at the end of the day.
The super sleuths of Tabby, Caro and Ben will make you laugh, shake your head in disbelief at times but enjoy their plotting and scheming all the more for it. The idea of being taken for a picnic on the headland in an Aston Martin , then taken home by a helicopter will have you laughing at the unreality of this tongue in cheek storyline whilst you wile away a few hours finding out what Tabby discovers about Jack Billington and his past whilst also trying to sort out Kelly and her love life.
An entertaining read for cosy mystery lovers.
