Zero Risk by Simon Hayes

Zero Risk

 by Simon Hayes

What a pleasure it has been to be asked to review Zero Risk by Simon Hayes. Thank you so much Literally PR and Rubriqs Press for sending me an ARC copy to read, I couldn't put it down until I had finished reading it , It is an absolute privilege to be opening the book tour for Zero Risk.

The issue here is where to start with the review. To say I was absolutely blown away by this debut novel from Simon is an understatement and doesn’t do it justice. From the outset the clear, descriptive, narrative captures your imagination as well as fires up, in my case , your feelings about the world we find ourselves in  which basically is governed by the seven deadly sins. I found myself thinking time and time again as the book progressed about how this could become a reality and how it highlighted the way we have developed within society.

I actually found that this the book was really well timed considering the upcoming General Election and the dog eat dog mentality of the politicians all promising what they are going to do and what dreadful liars the other parties are. At the end of the day the vast majority are in it for their own gain , just as they are in Zero Risk.

As the days change you find yourself wondering what will be the content of the next email in their inboxes and will the experts be able to stop the total collapse of the country and the banking system.

There are also some incredible side stories within the novel and Rob is definitely the type of guy you would want on your side in a crisis. As we get to know more about him and his background story  you will find yourself wanting to envelope him in a huge hug and just make everything right.

The technological side will also have you wondering how easy would this be to put in place within our banking system and I must admit these thoughts a little unsettling .

So to summarise , as well as being a very good story it also gets you thinking about where we are in relation to the seven deadly sins in the world we currently find ourselves in.

Simon Hayes is definitely one of those authors whose debut novel should set him on the path for a very successful future as a novelist.
